Dear Parents and Players,
 

Welcome to the New Tecumseth IceCats Team Tryouts! We are very excited to share with you our tryout details and program for the upcoming season.
 

TRYOUTS
 

The AA level is a fast paced, physical, and competitive game. Our selection committee will be looking for players with a high compete level, strong work ethic and specific individual skills.
 

Following each tryout, you will receive an email or a letter to advise if you’ve been invited back.

PHILOSOPHY

The Club's philosophy is to provide players with an engaging, fun, and positive experience while guiding them to achieve their full potential. Our program is designed to develop our players to reach the next level. It is heavily skill based, which will include instruction on team strategies and tactics taught by coaches and skills instructors who have played the game at a high level. We create an environment that is competitive, challenging and nurturing to ensure each athlete gets the most out of every practice and every game.

SEASON PLAN
 

Below is a high-level overview of our 2026-27 season: 

● Off- season: Team training sessions (on and off ice) will be scheduled throughout the offseason, beginning May 2026. 

● Training camp (mandatory): August 2026. 

● Goals: We will set team and individual player development goals for the season once the roster is finalized. 

● 2026-2027 Season: We will play 55-65 games, will have regularly scheduled practices, dryland training and informative off-ice sessions that are directed to furthering the development of team and individual skills. 

● Tournaments / Showcases: We will enter 4-5 tournaments and may plan a trip to a US college. 

FINANCIALS
 

Anticipated Team fees for the season will be approx. $5500 - $6500 per player. This does not include team wear, special team events nor any sponsorship.
